COVID MOON
Installation: 4K Video with Audio. Collage with monoprint and digital painting. Old frame and bench from the allotment. 2021
I documented life on an urban allotment in Isleworth, West London, over a 3 year period and during the Covid-19 pandemic. Interviewing a diverse group of inhabitants on the allotment, a microcosm of urban society; taking monoprints of plants and weeds and photographing, filming and recording audio on site. I made a series of Collage Paintings which were presented as an installation at the Penny School Gallery in London, using found objects from the allotment to depicting the stories of the residents and the changes over time. Jim, long standing resident on the allotment, became isolated in his local community but over time integrated into the allotment community finding connection and new social unit.
